TNC - Cerrado Annual Report

The Cerrado Annual Report was the second video created for The Nature Conservancy (TNC) that exposes the challenges for the preservation of this biome and its effects on the planet as one of the most threatened ecosystems in the world.

In this project, the work of TNC in the Araguaia Valley was portrayed, which encourages sustainable agricultural practices for the preservation of native areas with the fight against climate change and the protagonism of indigenous peoples and local communities.

Characters were designed to portray indigenous peoples and local communities. As a result, the character design of the project was the stage responsible for aligning the characters features with the story, personality and environment in which they are inserted in the video. We consider research with images on official websites and information provided by TNC about its representations.

For the movement of the characters and animals, rigging or skeletal animation was used. It consists of an animation technique in which movements are built from joints and structures that simulate a real body.

In this technique, the character acts like a puppet, connected by joints to avoid distortions during their actions. In the project, it was necessary to think of the illustration in such a way that the animals limbs behaved through joints.
